Wilford K. Gibson, M.D., an Orthopaedic Surgeon with Atlantic Orthopaedic Specialists, has been recently elected to serve on the Board of Councilors of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS). In this position Dr. Gibson will be representing the entire state of Virginia and will bring with him relevant experience in serving as immediate past-president of the Virginia Orthopaedic Society (VOS). The Board of Councilors serves as an advisory group to the AAOS's Board of Directors and its many committees. In working with state orthopaedic societies, the Board of Councilors represents grassroots efforts of the profession and conducts a wide range of educational programs for orthopaedists and their patients.
